Description

I sadly can’t write this part as a story. It is showing to be way too difficult for my brain to work with it because of how upsetting it is.
So, I’ll explain what happens. Still long though! And it made me cry several times. v_v

Edit: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS ABOUT YOURSELVES.

At the end of the last story piece (from finding out Sol died), Quill passed out. While doing so he ended up hitting his head pretty hard, causing him to go into a coma. Jack gets a lot of people to help him out as the stress is too much for him. Quill is treated for any and all injuries, and after a few days he is carried to his home and put there, where Rose and a few others watch over him.
During the last few days Jack had to get things set up for Sol to be buried. He even had a rush order of the gravestone made out of the village’s budget. He’s not thinking clearly because of the pain and sorrow he is feeling, but he still has work to do. He can’t have time to grieve, which really eats away at him.

Once Quill finally wakes up, Rose is there to greet him and to make sure he’s feeling okay. Quill had forgotten what had happened the night he hurt his head so Rose had to remind him in the gentlest way possible. Quill did have a feeling something bad happened, but being reminded that Sol died was a really, really hard blow to him. He is overcome with thoughts and feelings to where he functions as if he were numb. He doesn’t want to believe it.
He asks to be alone, and after Rose does grant him this he becomes shut in. For several more days he sits in his room, waiting for Sol to just pop inside again. However, the more he waits, the more the reality sets in. He stops eating and falls into a deep depression and becomes unresponsive. Nothing Rose said helped. All she could do was leave food for him, in which he wouldn’t touch.

While this is going on Jack had informed the entire village of Sol’s passing, and had the funeral for Sol without Quill. They shared stories of the wonderful things Sol had done for them and how much they missed him. His grave was placed between the home and the hospital, so Quill could hear everything everyone was saying, only making it worse for him. Though at some point the talking went into a blur and wasn’t understandable.

About a week after Sol died Jack goes into Quill’s home. He did before but Quill wouldn’t respond, so now this time he was angry. He yells at Quill to get up and EAT. He tells him how he’s sick and tired of Quill just moping around and pretty much asking for death with not eating. He says things that imply he wished it were Quill to have died instead, and how Sol wouldn’t have acted like this, that he would have helped out with everything since his LOVER died. He’d go on living and try to help people even more and make sure no one else had to suffer like he did.
Luckily Rose was in the room with them so she ends up getting Jack to calm down and bring him out. Quill is left trembling and feeling even more pathetic. He even thinks about how Jack was right, that he should have been the one to die and not Sol.

He finally cries.

Later that day Quill ends up getting up from his bed. He is very weak from the lack of food, so he’s wobbly and can hardly stand up straight. At this point he convinced himself he had to see where the grave was. He had to show himself that Sol really was gone. He was desperate.

Then he sees it. A whole flood of emotions hit him at once, and he finally has a full on break down. He cries hard for Sol, wishing for him to come back. He claws at the ground, thinking it could somehow help.
Jack can hear all of this going on, so he goes out to watch. He doesn’t intervene and simply lets Quill let it all out.

Once he has calmed down (after a few hours), Jack goes over to him to apologize for how he acted earlier. He tells Quill it’s not his fault for Sol dying and that he hoped he didn’t feel that way. Quill finally talks back and says how much he misses him, and that he can’t believe he’s gone.
They then start reminiscing about him, to a point where Quill smiles again, even if brief. Jack then says how he IS serious that he’d like Quill to get back on his feet, that that’s what Sol would have wanted. He knew Sol wanted to see those he loved happy, especially Quill. Jack tells Quill to not give up on love, either. Quill tries to say he’d never go with anyone else, but Jack, again, reminds him that Sol wouldn’t want that. But for the mean time they should both work at getting happier again, and maybe growing a stronger bond. Jack picks up the pan flute and hands it to Quill and tells him to always hold onto it close. Quill ends up crying again.

For the next several days Quill does keep to his word about trying to get happier. He forces himself to eat, and to move around. He still looks upset and sickly but at times he forces himself to smile. He tries to spend a lot of time with Jack so he didn’t feel lonely, and even asked Rose if he could sleep in their house. Pierce was against it, but Rose made sure to let it happen. Quill could only spend one night there though cuz Rose and Pierce’s two kids were annoying and loud. He then tries to sleep in a room next to Jack and Fiona (his wife)’s room but he just felt even lonelier knowing Jack had someone. In the end he makes himself sleep in his own home.

As the days turned into weeks, then into months, Quill was starting to show his colors again. Every day he’d go to Sol’s grave and tell him about what he did that day, and would give him new flowers or things he thought Sol would like. Some days even Rose would join him to talk to Sol.
The wind blew lightly each time.

There are times Quill will have upset moments, but he now has good friends to talk to about it. He can feel better knowing he’s not alone.
He is also now Jack’s right hand man, helping him out like how Sol did. At least… the best he could!

A full year now has passed. Maybe more.

Quill is helping out in the village with daily chores, but his mind wanders back to how he was immune to the disease. He thinks it over, wondering why that was so. He always felt it was strange he wasn’t affected by the disease like Sol was. Was there something different between them…?
Then it hits him.
He rushes to find Jack and tells him his plan. He asks where the biologist scientists are so he can go to them and give them a sample of himself (in whichever way that may be). His idea was that he could help them figure out why he was immune, and if there could be a way to find a cure for others who might fall prey to it. Jack becomes shocked he hadn’t even thought about it. But then he remembers it’s a place almost on the other side of the world.
This all leads to several days of talking about it, if Quill was serious enough for it. Quill hadn’t felt this serious in a long time! He, after all, wanted to follow Sol’s footsteps and help people out, and that seemed like something only he could do with something like this!
Jack agrees.
Quill is given a map, emergency supplies, food, and the pan flute (and his ring) into a large bag. He goes around the village telling everyone what he plans to do, and that he’ll be gone for a long time. Rose almost tries to ask him not to go, but she realizes this is what he must do. He gives hugs to everyone and gives his good byes (for now!) and now finally has a new goal in life.

Onto his next adventure!

Ahhh finally I can post this! It has been at least a month since I’ve finished this piece. Just had to get the writing done! And I couldn’t even make it as a story! ;3;
The next one should have a small story though, and the one after that an even longer story!

Also about the dates on the gravestone: I decided I’d make the timeline similar to our own, just so it’s easier on me.
